Actually, they talk about how the shots affect bone health pretty much every time they have a big conference..

In one recent conference, a bone doctor spent quite a while discussing bone health after taking ADT. His recommendation was that every person on ADT take a bone strengthener.

I’ve been on ADT for eight years and I’ve been on bone strengtheners for about the same time.

I took Fosamax for six years and I’m now on my second year of Zometa. I also take 500 mg of calcium three times a day, Had to do that to get my calcium levels up just a little.

I was told to start taking calcium and vitamin D immediately when I started ADT.

If your doctor didn’t inform you of these bits of information, you need to find yourself a better doctor. You want a Genito urinary oncologist, They specialize in prostate cancer, unlike medical oncologist, which work with all kinds of cancers.

My wife just started Fortibone for osteoporosis - collagen peptides which act as the scaffolding for new bone growth.
I looked into it since Ca supplements, D3 with K2 and Mag Glycinate did zip.
Bone loss is a very complicated process and many factors come into play. More people than ever are taking supplements, yet cases of osteoporosis are rising dramatically.
Of course, we know ADT is responsible for practically all bone loss in PCa patients, but again the mechanism and interactions of various factors are still very controversial.

Jeff, did you ever see my reply re: Calcium? I get Spring Valley Calcium 600mg/D 25mcg 500 tablets at Walmart. If you see a problem in this formulation, please let me know!
