I have started to choke spontaneously on my own saliva. Anyone else?

Thank you for posting. I have started to have some difficulty in swallowing. I noticed it when I go to take my medications. Used to, this was easy as could be. Now I have to swallow a lot of extra water to get it down. A friend told me that I should be sure to tell my doctor about this.

redtop10, Just a thought. Have you talked to a Gastroenterologist about this? I wonder if your esophagus needs dilating. It's a very simple procedure. I've had mine done twice and my husband has had his done as well.

They insert a balloon in your esophagus (you are sedated) and they stretch your esophagus. We
were getting choked and food would get stuck. It was painful. This procedure has been
a blessing to us both.

Praying for you. I know its scary for you when you have swallowing issues and can't get your meds to go down.
