BAM or food intolerances?

There are tests to rule for or against BAM, but my gastro who i just saw this last week doesn't do them. Said I needed to see a functional medicine doctor probably to get them done. So am working on that. I don't want to take the drugs without a diagnosis, just to see if it will work....it might not be BAM, maybe it's food intolerances, or something else. Also pissed off that considering the IBS-d diagnosis that when they did my 10 yr. colonoscopy that they didn't do the microscopic colitis test right away as long as they were in there. But, if need be I might have to have another one of those miserable tests to check for microscopic colitis. grrrrrr.

In the meantime, will be working on reducing sugar consumption, increasing fiber and reducing fat as those can all cause issues with diarrhea.

Oh yes we do need our gallbladder, but we can live without one...it might be lifelong battle with diarrhea tho. Our gallbladder has a very wonderful job which is one of regulating how much bile is sent out to digest our food we just ate and when we don't have one the bile just continuously drips into our intestines causing issues.

Pelvic floor exercises can help, but it still depends on how urgent that bm is that's coming especially when it's a #6 or 7 on the Bristol scale! For the less intense ones it helped.

@dlb123 - sorry they didn't combine the 10-year colonoscopy with the microscopic colitis test. I'm guessing you are referring to a biopsy with the colonoscopy?

Since I understand physicians use a number of different types of tests for microscopic colitis, which was the one you found miserable, and what did it involve that you didn't care for?
