Yes I experienced this last year , lifted something heavy and fractured L1-2, and L2-3 and 2 weeks later 3 and 4. Very painful had 2 kyphoplasties surgeries.
They do heal but you need to get on bone building drugs immediately!!
You will feel the difference.

Yes it takes you off your feet but it will heal .I wore a back brace that helped. Like u, I was active biking. Walking and even the fitness center.
It gets better. Im.still.in.pain a year later but only after I stand for a half hour and goes away when I sit.
I'm on Forteo pen injectable for 9 months. Really helps alot!! Hope you are on something for osteoporosis!! It's a must. See rheumatologist.
