I'm an 81 yo Aussie, who has been struggling with my BP control for many years. I'm currently on 3 types of medication. 2 of which I take first thing in the morning, usually between 6am & 8am. This has my BP down to around 130/75 by 10am. By 2pm my bp starts to rise again to around 140/81. I then take a 1mg prazosin tablet, then another at around 8pm.
6 weeks ago, those figures were much higher, but I have since started a 16/8 fasting diet, which has helped me lose 5kg of weight. I also try to take a brisk 1 mile walk, twice a day. I'd like to walk more, but my lower back complains too much, and I need to sit down for awhile.
My main reason for needing to lose weight and lower my bp is that I currently have a 46mm AAA, which has stayed at that size for the past 12 months. (I've explained all that on the Aneurysm support group discussion pages).
I'm wondering what other people are doing to control their bp. Any advice would be appreciated.
