Hi @sue417, when I started forteo, I felt very tired and lethargic, and often wanted to lie down. It turned out that my blood pressure had dropped significantly down to about 80/50, however, my blood pressure was already on the low side to begin with. My endo recommended increasing water intake to 10 cups (2400cc) per day and suggested adding a bit salt to the water if needed. This approach helped, but it took about a month and a half to feel like myself again, my mood wasn't affected though.
Forteo has just been prescribed for me, insurance has not approved it yet. In February the endocrinologist recommended I take Reclast. I have not taken it because I am afraid of the possible side effect of jaw osteonecrosis. Funny thing : After biting a tortilla chip the wrong way and injuring my gums my dentist said I had ONJ: after he plucked a tiny piece of bone from the injured area. It seems to have healed now. If insurance approves Forteo I don't know if I will take it. I have changed my exercise regimen to include stair stepper for 20 min then 10 min on treadmill to incline of 7.0 at speed of 2.5mph. I continue to use weight machines and do a 8 rep max once a week on the weight machines. I have talked with several women who are leery of osteo meds and do not want to take them.
Has anyone had any issues with the injector itself?
