Hello, I just started taking Alendronate. I took it Sunday, and I'm feeling strange, such as tiredness and soreness, particularly my lower back, as well as some dizziness, with that being said, I am a controlled diabetic. I am not sure if that is a factor, but leads me to be concerned when not feeling as well as before. I seem to be experiencing some tiredness which is unusual. Prior to taking Alendronate, I felt fantastic. So I am not sure what is going on. I also don't know if I am taking it for a short period of time or long term. I will see my Dr. in a couple of months, I do have a prescription for 3 months. Does any know if this is a temporary thing as a preventative action for osteoporosis. I have pre-osteoporosis. I am a 62 year old women. My mother is 92 and has severe osteoporosis. It has been her biggest down fall regarding her health. I am trying to do all that I can for my own well being regarding aging bones. I am just not sure on Alendronate tablets. I am always cautious of what I take. This is a new medication I know little about.

I took my first weekly alendronate almost 2 weeks ago. I have not done well. And not taking the second until I see my doctor. Nausea reflux mucous burning stomach gas. Up at night eating to stop the nausea.
I was wondering if anyone has tried the daily pill. If it might be easier on me? Although I’d prefer only once a week for convenience.
