Nickel free robotic TKR
Does Mayo Clinic Jacksonville Florida do a TKR with ceramic implant (due to my nickel allergy, no titanium) and use a robotic assist. Both the nickel allergy and the need for TKR are confirmed by medical professionals. Any information provided is appreciated, thank you!

You need to have the testing done at a lab approved by your ortho. If you don't, they will have to repeat it, increasing your time and cost. Trust me, they will not practice medicine based on a test purchased online.
Sue, the information provided about an online metal allergy test is not meant to skip the need of a physician's input. It is simply another option to get things started. For example, a positive test via the test kit my help the patient get the surgeon to order the blood test for metal allergies. It seems that many physicians are reluctant to see the value of that allergy blood test.
My note was to share a personal experience. Following the at home test kit, and at the request of my "ortho" I had an allergist MD do additional testing. The allergy Dr. made the nickel allergy diagnosis and documented my ortho file.
The final words in my post were:
"Of course, diagnosis must come from a physician.
Best wishes in your journey with your knee implants."

1 ReactionDid you ever get any info on this? I am curious as well.
I had a hip replacement with Nickel and it had to be revised to Titanium but still not perfect. Like you said Titanium alloy has trace Nickel. I might be looking a TKR.

1 ReactionI'm still on hold with my TKR. I am seeing a new surgeon in a few weeks and should have a better idea of choices. I want the robotic assist surgery with nickel free implant.

1 ReactionThat is horrible, I'm so sorry this has been your experience. I hope others will learn from your situation. Thank you for sharing.
I would be very interested in finding out the difference in performance between the metal free cement/implant and the regular ones. Who needs unnecessary metals in the body if there is an alternative. After watching the You tube series "do no harm" and others it is very apparent that US allows untested implants and products to be used in surgeries, which is scary. Do lots of research outside of asking docs questions because many of them don't know about some of this stuff themselves.

1 ReactionI used the following company to test metals, glues, etc and had my blood drawn for the test:
Orthopedic Analysis
Chicago, IL 60612
Based on my results I need to ensure any medical implants, stents, clips, etc do not contain Nickel and a few other metals.
Good luck!

1 ReactionI knew I had metal allergies because the only metal jewelry I can tolerate is gold or stainless steel. I used the same lab and am so grateful I paid the $600 out of pocket. Medicare will not cover this test.
My results were disappointing although I was not surprised based on jewelry issues for years. I tested positive to nickel, chromium, aluminum and 2 others. I didn't test positive to titanium.
However, my ortho told me even the purest titanium has traces of other metals in it. The ceramic coated implants are coatings over metals, normally titanium , they wear over time and then you are exposed to the titanium with traces of my allergic metals.
I cancelled my surgery.
