Thanks for your reply, frankcat. I wonder if a nerve ablation could help if that is the issue. Someone mentioned that in a post. The surgeon did mention the release surgery you had, but I’ve decided against it as I could walk and hike before the recent cortisone injection and I did not want to deal with weakness again. My issue was lifting my leg without pain prior to the injection. It did take lots of effort though, 16+ months of PT and 5-6 months seeing a Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulation doctor weekly. I won’t ever have another cortisone injection because I’m back at the beginning again.

Hope you can figure out a way to resolve the pain.

Hello Mary,
I had another cortisone injection last Monday under ultrasound. He got the correct spot I felt it for sure. So far it feels a little better. I am also on pregabalin for the nerve pain as well . I am wondering if the doctor that did your injection hit a nerve as to why you are so much worse after? Anyway I hope you recover well after all this as well as myself it’s very nice reaching out to you it all helps , keep in touch .
Thank you , Frank
