That is such encouraging news, if I can avoid TKR with this procedure, I will do it. Don't know if you have heard of Iovera treatment, and it does sound similar to this, but I got that almost a year ago and it was a total failure, so trying something similar, at least for me, is a little frightening. But I am so happy it has worked for you. I can't even walk 3 minutes straight, much less 3 miles, so I know that man is a very happy man. And at his age! I am so happy for you, good luck on your follow up, but I think you know how that will be, complete success! If I had a guarantee I would do it tomorrow but I'm sure there is no guarantee.

Hi - no, haven’t heard of the procedure you mentioned. I wouldn’t have known about GAE without my physical therapist mentioning this study. The Interventional Radiologist doing the procedure told me everyone responds differently; some can take months. I feel fortunate and hoping this lasts. I know directly and indirectly people who feel the TKR wasn’t worth it based on the outcome. Best of luck to you.
