I am now discharged from Mayo. The photodynamic portion of my trial
Is over. The doctor said it altered the tumor and made it more soft(he said my tumor was very hard). I still have pain and am struggling to eat sometimes. Still need a little oxy but can go without a dose as well.

It may have been a challenge with the darkness and the pain, but if it helps, it is so worth it. Now, I am feeling very tired. Got my keytruda yesterday. Not sure if it is a side effect or if I am just tired from poor sleep at hospital.

You are probably tired from everything. Get some rest. Lots of it. Sleep well knowing that you gave it your best effort. That is all that you can ask of yourself. You live to fight another day.

When will they scan again to see if the chemo penetrates more swiftly?

Rest. Tomorrow is a new day!

You’re having an identical experience/ reaction to the same Mayo trial as my wife has had. She started about 2 1/2 weeks ago with the dark room, etc.. .quite a bit of fatigue, periodic back pain and abdominal pain.. We are about to have our second round of chemo tomorrow but as you describe it, it sounds like a very similar situation. Best of luck to you and all of us, we’re hoping for the best.
