I had an ultrasound guided Cortizone injection into my psoas muscle on April 30, 2025. Since then, my hip has collapsed and feels just like it did after that hip was replaced 3 1/2 years ago. I literally can’t walk. My muscle strength, liagaments, or tendons have been affected negatively. I was in better shape before the Cortizone shot. I have spent the last 10 weeks trying to learn to walk and still struggle. Surgeons office is zero help. By the way I was an avid hiker before this shot.

PS this was not my first shot and the prior one was successful.

Hello , I had a total hip replacement in 2021 due from a truck accident in 2018. Before the THR I had several cortisone injections but they didn’t help much after the THR I still had deep groin pain . The docs told me I needed the iliopsoas release and surgery was the only way it may work but no guarantees. I had that done in Mayo 12/24 . I still have pain when I walk more than a few minutes or sit in a prone position for more than minutes as well . I had several additional cortisone injections after but I think this is the best it’s going to get . I also have been doing PT three times a week since February 2025. My legs are stronger but the pain in the groin just will not go away. Before this I was an avid bike rider and a golfer. So now it’s the meds pretty much keeping me going . It’s unfortunate however I do not like drugs but I have really no choice at this point. I guess in time we will see how it goes . Personally my PT believes I have permanent nerve damage I believe he is correct . Thank you and good luck with your hip
