Pee Log. After surgery, how many times did you pee in the average day?

My Surgeon ordered some PT for me to complete Kegels etc. The PT gave me a Pee Log to complete. I have to monitor how much I pee for 48 hours. My first day I peed 15 times. If you've had to complete such a Pee log how many times did you pee in the average day? Also my form says that the average bladder should hold 2 full cups and that I should only be peeing 5-8 times a day..... Are they insane?

It depends on your age. Your bladder gets smaller as you age. I am 70 years old, and it was actually the sudden onset of awakening at night to urinate back in September 2024, that prompted me in December 2024 to get a PSA and exam to see if I had BPH or worse. I had Gleason 3+4 =7 7 (0nly 10% "4's"), but my cancer had entered my left seminal vesicle ever so slightly. Anyway...
Based on my age and condition post-RP, my pelvic floor physical therapist (PFPT) said that I should be urinating 8-10 times per day...basically every two hours using her planned liquid consumption and pee schedule. I am to only consume 8 oz of liquid at a time, and urinate every two hours (up to three hours is OK, but not more she said). So, between arising at 6:00 a.m. until bedtime about 10:00 - 11:00 p.m., and consuming 8 oz of liquid based on the PFPT's schedule, I should urinate no less than 8 times and no more than 10 times.

I’m 1 1/2 years out of surgery. The doctor told me that changes in the urethra and bladder can cause changes in urinating. I never had incontinence issues, but still have to wait awhile to empty out. I was also told that getting up every two hours while sleeping is normal. Hope this helps. Good luck

Actually getting up to pee every two hours is not too common. I never had that after surgery. At the most two times a night. 11 years after salvage radiation and 15 years after surgery i have some incontinence issues, uually less than one pad a day. I get up, at the most, one time a night, Many nights, I don’t get up at all and just pee in the morning..
