There is a correlation between BE and autoimmunity -- especially RA and inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn's in particular. I have Crohn's and it has been basically well controlled on humira for several years. I am in month 9 of antibiotic treatment for MAC/MAI discovered a year ago, with BE discovered 13 years ago and considered mild even with MAC.
