I use Hollister CeraPlus # 8414 which is a 1 piece pre-cut to the size of my stoma (1") paired with Adapt CeraRing # 8815. If you call Hollister, I am pretty sure they will send you samples to try out. YouTube has an amazing amount of "how to" videos about urostomies.
After cleaning the skin around the stoma, I use a pad of Cavilon barrier film # 3342, then sprinkle the powder lightly - some powder will stick to the moistness of the Cavilon.
When using the powder, you must blow out all but a very thin layer - I use a blow dryer on cold and low setting for just a couple of seconds to mimic just blowing it off.

I was told by the nurse not to use Cavillon as I had purchased the spray and the barrier wipes. They kept on telling me less is better. How frequent do you change your appliance if you have no leaks. I too use the CeraRing #8815 but I divide it in 4 pieces and roll each into a ring and place it around the middle circle to prevent leaks. So far it’s been working. Thank you for your suggestion

I use a barrier spray after applying the powder and then a barrier pad to make sure all the powder has been covered. The one time I didn't make sure all the powder was treated with the barrier products, the coloplast pouch would not adhere. Trash time. The powder and barrier products are essential to keeping the areas from becoming red and irritated.
