I had an emergency aortic dissection work… Ascending, just over 6 cm. Cardiac arrest two weeks after with staples still in my sternum. Have had two more subsequent surgeries, each one larger than the last.
There are effects that only people who have experienced something like that can tell you about. I personally have gone through major depressive episodes, currently suffer from PTSD, and worry that there is a time bomb in my chest.
That said, I’ve never been given such a gift, such clarity, and such a wonderful outlook on life that only a small handful of people can truly understand. It’s much more nuanced and deeper that I could ever put in this comment, but I would be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Thanks for the answer!
My doctor suspects I have an abdominal aortic aneurysm due to high abdominal pulsations in the supine position, waiting for an ultrasound for another month.
I work as a nurse, have FMD and problems with my liver now which may be due to my arteries in the liver but have also had it in my carotid arteries and brain since 2023, also waiting for an ultrasound.
Yes, of course you get scared and have death anxiety but my liver inflammation makes me tired which is good. Yes, it's just a matter of waiting but I understand your anxiety and I don't understand the healthcare system that only expects the abdominal aneurysm to be 6-7 cm when it should be an easier operation if it's smaller. Hugs!
