My rheumatologist also told me that calcium citrate was better absorbed. But the pills are so big that I have trouble swallowing them!! Anyone have this problem? What do you do???

You can get calcium citrate in dissolvable powder form. I used to take calcium citrate but it made my stool too loose. Can do the opposite for others. You just need to try it to see how it works for you. With the powder you can adjust your dosage if need be.

@sebutler I find it easier to swallow large pills with water, with my head down, looking at the floor. Try that. Even a pill stuck in the throat if I forget to do this, will go down easily when I drink water looking down.

I have a problem swallowing food too, and putting my head down as I swallow helps.

I take the gummy version because I have difficulty swallowing.

It comes as a liquid which might work better for you
