Adverse Heart conditions from Hormone therapy
How did hormone therapy affect your heart health? How do you monitor your heart health? I am scheduled for ECHO. My oncologist suggested PET scan for heart. I just sent a message to my cardiologist about it.

My husband has been on ramipril for High BP for 20 years without issue. He had a 3 month hormone therapy injection last August (can't remember the name) and by October started having breathlessness and tightness of the chest which he didn't mention until January this year. His bloods in march showed high tryglicerides (unlike before) indicating heart disease. He's recently had all the tests including angiogram and the cardiologist said alls fine with the heart now and tryglicerides are back down again since the hormone is out of his body. Cardiologist said the hormone therapy can affect the left ventricle!! My husband had lots of side effects from the hormone therapy and oncologist won't give him that one again in the future. It's amazing how treating one area via hormones affects so many other parts of your body.
I am not nmCRPC but I had no problem getting my doctor to prescribe Darolutamide And I know many other people, whose doctors prescribe it. No problem with insurance paying for it either.
There is some controversy among prostate cancer, people and doctors about the fact that nmCRPC Doesn't) really exist. People who are castrate resistant probably have metastasis that are just too small to be seen yet.
Stick with the two together if you can, It should give you better overall survival.
Re: “People who are castrate resistant probably have metastasis that are too small to be see yet. “
Thank you for the reply. I believe the above might also be true for people who are castrate sensitive like me. Still too undetectable to the PSMA and MRI. That would be the best rationale to take the combo, the potential of additional side effects be damned.
