If you want a firm, good ground contact shoe you might check out Mephisto shoe. I went to a shoe store after I got plantar fasciitis and told the salesman I wanted to try on shoes but I didn't want to know the brand or cost and sure enough the Mephisto shoes were the most comfortable however also the most expensive.
Take care,
Jake

Did you buy the Mephisto shoes and if so, are you happy with them? I'm considering them as they have some on their site for sale. Thanks!

Good morning, Jake (@jakedduck1)

Thanks for mentioning Mephisto. That's one shoe I've never investigated. I'm drawn by what you say ("most comfortable") but also made a bit nervous by something else you say ("also the most expensive"). I ordinarily shop shoes online, using Zappo's, but at this hour of the day I'm unable to access the Internet (I can only access Connect), so I have no choice but to wait until noon to find just how "expensive." I'm no babe in the woods when it comes to having gotten used to the ever-soaring price of well-made shoes; I can remember the day waaaaaay back in the '70s when the clerk told me that my first pair of Asics was going to cost me $83. Wha! $83? That's impossible! He laughed. And I laughed. Because he knew. And I knew. Time's had changed. 🙂

Cheers!
