Back Pain
From my experience, costly lower back injections provide only brief respite. But what after-effects do they leave?
My right lower leg and foot have remained numb for years, but the lower back pain persists. I manage on daily oral medication instead.

Best wishes to you! A few days ago with some skepticism, I began using an "Ice Pack for Back Pain Relief," which seemed to help lots...until today not so much. Tomorrow?
I started using lidocaine patches for lower back pain. The store purchases are 4 % lidocaine and Costco has the most patches for the best price. Prescription strength is 5% lidocaine. Orthopedist didn't think they would help spinal stenosis causing sciatica but they definitely help me. I use on my back and legs and leave on all day. If pain is an issue in bed, I also use at night.
Injections, ablation, and physiotherapy didn’t work at all for my sciatica nerve pain which reaches into my left foot. I also have lower back pain in the l4-l5 area and sacrum. I have osteoporosis, stenosis, radiculopathy and herniated disc. The only things that have worked for me are distraction (finding something that completely takes my attention) which is drawing and pottery. I’ve started Pregabalin as well and after a few months of adjusting the dose I find that the pain is much less. I take 50mg two times per day. More that that gives me brain fog. Constipation is an issue but the benefits outweigh the negative for me right now.
