First treatment seemed to go very well. He was okay until tonight. Drove himself to the clinic to have the 46 hour pump removed and drove home.
Had some hydration while he was there as he still has difficulty with swallowing and it seems to perk him up.
But this evening around 9pm I was upstairs folding laundry and I heard a noise downstairs. My son and I ran down and found Rich on the kitchen floor.
He had taken the dogs outside then come back in to give them a treat. Said he felt weak and landed on the floor.
Spit up a little phlegm but managed to get himself up as he insisted he wanted to do it himself.
He made it to the couch, then had to go to the bathroom. He managed to climb upstairs and take care of himself then go back down to the couch.
He is resting now and says he just feels weak.
I called the on call doctor and we had a good discussion. She said to keep an eye on him for temperature change, vomiting, or diarrhea.
Ugh.

Be sure to monitor BP also. I had similar experiences while undergoing chemotherapy. I was blacking out because my blood pressure was dropping too low. Doc gave me some medicine to counteract that.

Thinking of you and your husband. I hope the 4th brought moments of peace and joy for you and your family. Praying he’s feeling stronger and more at ease as he continues through his treatments.

I’m glad he was able to start treatment. My husband just finished 4 rounds of FLOT chemo; it was really rough but he got through it. The reduced the last dosage by 15% because we didn’t feel his body could handle another dosage at 100% . They give a person as much as they feel can be tolerated and sometimes it becomes too much. The reduction helped as far as some of the worst of the side effects. We just met with the surgeon and are feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment. I saw your post and wanted to check in and see how you guys were.
