I am 78 and have decided that it would not be worth it for me, unless I was totally willing to live with the consequences. One that I would not make it through the surgery, BEST option for me. 2. Why put myself through that kind of long surgery and recovery. 3. FEAR of what I have heard others have to put up with after wards. NOT for me no re-attachment.
Good luck if you choose to do it. My bag has been a life saver for me from what it was like before my ostomy.

Thank you for tour your input I did tell doctor the surgeon said it was permanent and he agreed it may be . I had resigned myself to that. I still have problems with stool pancaking and pushing bag off He is having me go on high fiber diet to see if I can get stools regulated and I am trying that first
