Are fresh fruit high in fructose bad for elderly individuals?

I'M SEEING LOTS OF BLOGS ON YOUTUBE CLAIMING THAT EATING FRESH FRUIT THAT CONTAINS FRUCTOSE IS BAD FOR YOUR JOINTS ON ELDERLY PEOPLE. THEN ON THE OTHER HAND, I SEE DIET PLANS THAT RECOMMEND EATING A LOT OF FRESH FRUIT INCLUDING THOSE WITH SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF FRUCTOSE. WHAT IS THE CORRECT ANSWER?

I am one of those people with IBS-D and I can't eat most melons or apples. I can eat berries and bananas. I am in my eighties and still figuring out the food situation. It's always a work in progress.

For the longest time, I could not eat watermelon, but for some reason, now I can. Go figure! So you bet -- always a work in progress.

I am at Costco and are you aware of the fact that they sell a smoothie mix that includes all the frozen fruit except cherries but it includes bananas. Do you use two or 3 cups of the frozen fruit or more than that thanks for your response

The smoothie mix comes in packets of the frozen fruit. I just made it up for the first time on Monday. I used 2 packets of the fruit mix plus a cup of cherries along with 2 scoops of whey and 2 cups of heavy oat milk. That made up to much, so tonight I am going to cut the amounts in half except for the oat milk. It’s a matter of experimenting with quantities.

You also said you use oat milk. How much of that do you add? Thanks for your response.

Interesting thread with lots of information. The bottom line however, is we are not all the same, especially as we age and take on numerous physical and medical changes. I used to be able to eat most fruits, now there are some fruits in smoothies I cannot not tolerate. I am also lactose intolerant. Fortunately, as God planned it, there are a variety of fruits and healthy ingredients that can be put into Smoothies, or other forms of nutritional menus, if smoothies are your thing. No one diet or foods fits all. Listen to your body, I know my body sends me signals when I'm off track.

I agree. I cannot use whey in my smoothies, although I can eat some live culture yogurt and sour cream (homemade.) To supplement the fruits I can eat, I add Orgain Protein & Greens powder in smoothies.
I'm on my way to mix up a batch right now for our camping trip tomorrow - I like a small glass as a bedtime snack sometimes too.
