As a veteran to medication allergies I can suggest Allegra 180 for the itch since it is a histamine reaction. It may take a larger dose than on the package to get rid of the itching, hives and rash. Ask your doctor if a larger dose is ok for you. For example: I take three 180 tabs a day for medication allergy every day. Its the only thing that has worked for me.
@samjackson I had an allergic reaction a couple of years ago to Diflucan and broke out in hives all over. It was awful. I ended up going to urgent care as the gyn I had at the time said benadryl would suffice. It did not. Urgent care gave me prednisone in addition to the benadryl and also had me take pepcid (off label use)which is a histamine blocker( had no idea) . The urgent care dr td me it would take about 6 or 7 days to be fully out of my system. Don't hesitate to call your dr if you are not feeling better with what they prescribed for the hives.
