I too flew from Hawaii to have HoLEP surgery with DR. Slade after you, mine was on May 9th. He was very nice and caring during the surgery and for a few weeks afterwards he checked in on me.
My healing process is going extremely slow at over 7 weeks post surgery now. I’m still experiencing over active bladder symptoms and stress incontinence so bad that I have to use 4-6 heavy duty pads per day. When I sit or lay down I have zero leakage so I’m thankful for that. At around 5-6 weeks post surgery I started passing bladder stone and crystal clusters, I barley felt them passing, this indicates to me that the valve at the bottom of the prostate was made too large. My nerves and muscles at the bladder neck as well as the bottom valve were shocked really badly. I’m doing tons of kegals and doing Tens tibial verve stimulation. I’m also drinking Varuna bark tea that has been used for 3000 years to treat OAB.
My only option to talk to the Dr. now is to leave comments on his HoLEP You Tube video.

I am so sorry to hear about some of the complications you are experiencing. I’m confused that you only have communication with him on his YouTube.
I’m not sure how or why they wouldn’t have but Dr. Slade and his office information are on all his emails if he has called you, his number should be on your caller ID
Our experiences differ because I had no underlying experience no stones and the major issue was my median lobe , so I had a little less done than the entire prostate removal. I’m sure if you call the phone number to his office they will respond.

I am 7 months post HOLEP. I have been wearing men’s diapers up until 2 weeks ago when I started wearing just pads. I started with using 6-7 diapers per day and kept getting better. I am the one off. Most people (according to my doctor) are back to normal within 6 months. So glad I am not wearing the plastic diapers in this heat. I did kegals for 6 months. It worked for me. Wishing you the best.
