Was the biopsy an MRI-Ultrasound fusion biopsy? This is the most accurate. Did your husband have an MRI of his prostate? These two are critical to a proper diagnosis. Both of these procedures yield a prostate volume. How large is his prostate? A PSA of 12 which increased to 12 over a short period of time would be cause for concern. I agree on a PSE test............get one. Get second opinion from a center of excellence on the MRI results to make sure nothing was missed. Do not trust the first set of results. Radiologists make mistakes, especially if they are not expert in reading prostate MRI's. Pursue this until you have high confidence you've got credible analysis of your situation.

Two years ago my PSA was 13 had a biopsy with negative results. This year my PSA increased to 27 so I had MRI-Ultrasound fusion biopsy and 6 were negative and 6 were 4+4 and am getting ready to start treatment. My recommendation is ask for the MRI-Ultrasound fusion biopsy it is much more accurate
