I believe it’s standard practice with a physicians’s order to have a colonoscopy one year after surgery date. If there are 0 polyps then it should be 3 years not 5 as far as I know. You should discuss with your oncologist. The above is for colon cancer. I don’t know if guidelines are different for rectal cancer. Your periodic blood work can change the frequency if they show anything concerning as well.
