No pain at all during the day. It is only in bed at night.
I dread going to bed. I would think a structural problem would also be problematic during the day. I saw the surgeon in Jan. and he said it could go on for about 8 months. He also said to get up and walk around. That does relieve the pain but I would have to be doing that all night long. Hard to desribe the pain but not stabbing, pinching or tingling. More like deep persistent pain which isn’t helped by changing position. But I can stretch out on the sofa comfortably. I will call my surgeon.

I had to go back to icing after recovering for months from one of my hip surgeries - it was the only thing that relieved the pain - after several discussions with my PT we concluded the pain was probably in the bone. It finally let up after several months. Just this week, after over 10 years, I have started getting twinges of it again - but the original implant is almost 20 years old - time to let the surgeon take a look and make sure all is well.

@lynnn I'm so relieved that I'm not alone in my discomfort. You have described my symptoms and discomfort like no one else, and I'm thankful for your comment, which brings relief mentally. I'm at just over 6months from TKR, had MUA at 2 months with little relief. Daytime is ok, but I dread evening/bedtime. Up about every 1-2 hours, haven't had 5 plus hours of straight sleep since the 1st night of surgery (that was because of medication and anesthesia). Dr keeps saying I'm still healing/recovering and give it time....same old give it a year. I'm at my wits' end and pray for healing almost every evening. Paul had his "thorn" and this is mine 🙁
