To my knowledge and admittedly limited reading, fish oil does not affect triglycerides - or not much.

I started Vascepa several years ago ... decreased from 141 to 42 within three months. Has remained in narrow range of 35 to 52 since then.

My heart failure doctor is the director of heart failure and transplant at Mayo Jacksonville. He advised me many years ago to start taking Fish Oil to reduce my triglcerides. It did by about half. I am also on a statin drug but it was to reduce LDL

A recent article in WEBMD (anyone can go on there and review) was citing fish oil lowering tryglycerides by eating fish and more effective supplements. This information was from health studies and trials. At WEB MD they articles alwasy give the doctors name and employment when they are used to provide data to a WEBMD article.

A good thing for anyone is to check with their doctors before taking any supplements. My heart failure doctor recommended this and my Mayo PCP concurred citing studies not only at Mayo but other major medical instutions and studies.
