Why would the opposite foot to the surgery side start swelling

Both my feet are now swelling 8.5 weeks post op from a THA . Not on surgery side also has some redness and tenderness.

There are many reasons why this can happen, but perhaps the most common reason is inflammation. When the body sends the additional blood carrying the necessary healing products.(For lack of a more appropriate word.) it isn’t unusual to happen and I believe it is most common in lower extremities. Gravity and all that I think. Good question for your doctor.

Agree with Jake, discuss with doctor/PAC, one of many possibilities is renal function so perhaps consider laboratory serum creatinine and BUN. If medication related decrease in renal function, may be reversible (for example after stopping an NSAID or other pain meds which sometimes cause fluid retention or renal function changes). Need provider assessment to consider potential causes however. Best wishes.
