I underwent hiatel hernia surgery several years back. The 100% wrap immediately failed, then 2 more attempts failed. I have an extended stomach, constipation and gastroparesis since then. From all of the prodding and probing I've gone through along with hours of my personal research, suggests my Vegas nerve was damaged during the procedure thus all of the issues I am experiencing. My suggestion is due diligence on the potential physician you select to do the surgery by checking their past patient's success rate to determine if any of them experienced a damaged Vegas nerve. I understand attempts to rectify a damaged Vegas nerve have a low percentage of success. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

I had hiatal hernia surgery with fundoplication in December 2014. The only after effects I’ve had is I cannot vomit and gas. The surgery was done laparoscopically
