I’m scheduled for surgery August 13, hopefully I will have a good outcome but not looking forward to the first week after

You got this. Think one step at a time. Get ready now by walking and doing kegels. After surgery keep up with pain control for the first few days. Take laxatives because that whole pelvic floor area is impacted. Eat properly and drink lots of fluids. Follow instructions for the catheter to avoid infections. Find a comfortable place to hang out. Take off work to rest and heal. Before you know it, the catheter is out and you'll start feeling better.

Bruce: Don't borrow trouble. It wasn't nearly as bad I made it out to be. After a couple days, I developed a routine and the catheter was nothing but a minor annoyance. This was in 2020.
