Oh no she is still alive. Since having the mesh replaced with pig skin she has had no more complications so far thank God. My complications were that the hernia repair caused a lot of serious adhesions in my intestines. I was never informed that this was a possibility from surgery. Apparently it is. So this cause my intestine to kink and pretty much bunch up to the point it caused an obstruction. This is where everything can't pass through the way it should. I had stomach cramping which could only be described by me as the feeling of labor during child birth. Severe cramping that would come and go every minute or 2. They attempted to use an NG tube to relive some symptoms and could not get one through my nose. Eventually it resolved itself but an obstruction can become life threatening. I have since had to meet with a nutritionist at mayo and change my diet. It has been a learning process and by the grace of God and mayo clinics guidance I have not had another one yet.
