Hey there! I’ve been experiencing my bed vibrating when I’m trying to sleep and have even turned off my air conditioner thinking it was shaking my mattress! I’ve had my roommate lay in my bed and of course he felt nothing! Am I losing it? Could this be the start of Parkinson’s Disease? Someone says anxiety but I’m not at all anxious I mean until now…what could it be? Google scares me telling me demons or the house is falling down! Someone have suggestions please???

I have recently been officially diagnosed as having essential tremor by a neurologist even though a PCP preliminarily diagnosed mine years ago. It is best to get a medical diagnosis to rule out Parkinsons or something else. You will have more peace of mind with a correct diagnosis and will know how to proceed with treatment. Mine is sporadic and unpredictable as to when it will get really bad as opposed to just being mild. I hate meds so I only take something as needed. As someone mentioned Propanolol helps. A 6 oz glass of red wine has the same benefit, however I rarely use either of those options. If I dwell on it, it becomes worse. I use white noise and deep breathing at bedtime, and I generally sleep well. Sometimes, the simplest solutions are the most effective, but please get a proper diagnosis first.
