similar "10 year history of pulling and pain in my right lower abdomen/pelvis"...Mesenteric Panniculitis never discussed by family doctor who must have read numerous confirmations of same on many CT scans that i have had usually when suspected kidney stones were thought to be the issue {and occasionally were!} ....recently a specialist preparing to operate on me to remove a tumor from small intestine from reviewing my medical history stated "I have a history of Mesenteric Panniculitis!"...which was news to me and resulted in me having open surgery due to excessive imflamation around the tumor /small bowel area.......now 3 months on from surgery for tumor removal similar stomach symptoms to what I have been having for 10 years have returned ..raising the unanswered questions is stomach discomfort /occasional constipation caused by Mesenteric Panniculitis or by scar tissue and /or adhesions or from both!......family doctor still choses to brush of any discussion of Mesenteric Panniculitis and specialist has provided an appointment for late July and I have a follow up to my surgery colonscopy scheduled for September. Mesenteric Panniculitis remains undiscussed!..I have read much in detail about Mesenteric Panniculitis but nobody in the medical field seems interested in even a discussion! ....so I am asking you all can you provide me with some info as to how I cope with Mesenteric Panniculitis in addition to my post surgery challenges which @ 82 years I am finding overwhelming / thank you all god bless

Adding to my own post /above......Is there an actual connection to Colorectal cancer?....from reading it does seems that many with Mesenteric Panniculitis also have or get cancer? like I have / NOW HOPEFULLY GONE /NO CHEMO REQUIRED! ........Why so little information out there?

Man, you just scared me with the 10 years thing, I remember when I was first diagnosed I was 2 weeks in and the dr said maybe 3 to 6 weeks and I am now at 14 months. I experienced the same thing after my first Cat Scan in the ER, the dr said I had some inflammation in my intestines and I will be fine and sent me home. I was in terrible pain and called my gastroenterologist and that’s when I learned that it was rare and they didn’t have a true treatment plan. I feel like they don’t understand how your quality of life is diminished when you walk around all day like someone keeps punching you in the gut.
