"How to pee during the night"

I currently have two choices:

1) Sit on the toilet for 30-45 minutes and wait for enough to dribble out to relieve the urge or,
2) Wash hands, insert catheter, and go back to bed in a minute or so.

Sleep is very important to me. I use method 2.
