Can you start at a lower dose? I started at .25. I heard Mounjaro has fewer side effects, but costs more and has more shortages.

@kaki49 NovoNordisk must have changed their dosage requirements as my endo prescribed .5mg at the beginning, the lowest dosage at that time. Remember, Ozempic is primarily designed for type 2 diabetics usually at 1mg or less. The 2mg weekly dosage for Ozempic is for diabetes and hopefully some weight loss will occur. If you are not a type 2 diabetic, Wegovy is a better choice for weight loss. I don't know the difference in cost between Wegovy and Mounjaro, but there is a patient assistance program available for both conpanies for those who qualify. For me, I never had side effects, however Ozempic may cause constipation for some or many.

@kaki49 hi.
ozempic made me very ill. I tried it for a few months and could not get over the nausea
the drug caused me, I am now on Mounjaro. I have had no side effects at all but here in Canada we pay for injectables and Mounjaro is very costly. I take one 2.5 dose once a week. My numbers are good with it so I am planning on staying with Mounjaro. Have you seen th Mounjaro adverts on t.v? some lady dancing around with a cooking spoon and n explanation of what the drug is used for.
