My urologist dismissed brachytherapy as treatment option. From a radiology standpoint, it’s more lucrative to dial up a radiation treatment plan (as opposed to a brachytherapy procedure). Too, brachytherapy is a specialized procedure offered by relatively fewer practitioners. When combined with ADT and supplemented with some form of EBRT it appears to be a viable and effective treatment for more aggressive localized prostate cancers. At least that’s what I was and am still hoping for.
My brachytherapy was performed at Huntsman in Salt Lake City. The IMRT and ADT were locally provided in Montana.
Whatever side effects that I’d experienced were pretty much done a month or two after completing treatment.
