Similar situation here. I started off with DCIS, the plan was lumpectomy and radiation. Three lumpectomies later , still didn’t have clean margins and they found 1 cm of invasive. I decided enough of this and had a bilateral mastectomy. Eight mos later ( and 6 mos of regular PT massage) I’m getting used to my new body and feel great! I think if I had gone the other route I’d be constantly worried.
