I was struggling putting on my compression socks too, but in my podiatrist office I learned how. They showed me a technique where I reach inside the sock and pinch the heel of the sock and pull it out. Maybe there is a video on Youtube but I have not checked. Hope this helps.

@captboat Thanks for mentioning this. I have a heart condition and so I've been wearing compression socks for several years. I used a sock fitter to put them on and that worked fine, but it was expensive and since it was made from plastic, it would evenually crack and break. I saw a video showing the technique you are talking about, and I've been using that ever since. It's a little harder than using a sock fitter, but it works. I generally pull the sock over my hand and arm, find the heel of the sock with my inside hand, and pinch it, then pull the top of the sock down with my free hand, and over the hand holding the heel of the sock. Then I pull out my hand carefully (so I don't pull the heel and toe of the sock), then with the top of the sock over the heel and toe, I spread the opening and then put my foot into that opening, and pull it on as much as I can. Then I grasp the top of the sock that is hanging beyond my toes, and pull the sock over my foot and heel. At that point, I generally have some loose sock at my toes, and so I start pulling the sock to make it fit better. It sounds complicated, but it really isn't that hard once you get the hang of it. I hope this helps.
