My adult son lost his job because of his mental illness symptoms showed up. So, he lost his health insurance.
He couldn't go any psychiatrist. Later he got a government insurance for low income ( no income ) people. But no psychiatrist accepted because his poor insurance. We called many psychiatrists to make an appointment for him. When he was a young, our insurance covered him so we could meet a nice psychiatrist. Our son really needed doctor's help when he lost his job. But his office turned him down. We wanted to talk to the doctor.
One of our rich elder neighbors lost her husband recently and she was sad , she can't stand her sadness then she often visits psychiatrists to just talk to the doctor get comfort. She has a nice insurance. My husband and I often get emails from our hospital to visit anytime to meet your doctors including psychiatrists. We are healthy we don't need it. Those mental illness people tend to lose their job and lose their insurance. They can't go to the doctor and get worse or go drug. Those street drug makes them nicer feeling temporarily. This is very sad situation.
