I have had two spinal fusions, L5-L4 thirty years ago - total success
L4-L3 6 weeks ago - I am feeling great with occasional pain
I am almost 80 years old / was a self-employed carpenter (who abused his back)
I am still a very active person and I cannot wait to go back to doing everything. But I will
greatly recommend not to push it too soon - sit for only short periods l lay down flat as often
as possible / I wear a back brace whenever I am up / and I am walking short distances as often
as possible. Listen to your body - if in any discomfort, stop what one is doing.
I have been feeling so much better than I had been this past year - I was in so much pain I could
not walk easily and stand without pain in both legs / I had to sit to brush my teeth.
I hope this gives some individuals greater confidence to go ahead with "Fusion Surgery". peter
