Congrats! Does the insulin pump ever cause problems for you? Is it ever wrong like delivers too much insulin when you don't actually need it?
You have a wonderful attitude and glad to hear you are doing well.

The pump delivers very accurately provided you put in an estimated carb content on most everything you eat. I wasn’t advised until about 5 months after I got the unit that I need to put my carbs in 7-8 minutes before eating. I was putting them in when I sat down to eat or sometimes after I ate. So, with that said, yes, it is very accurate given the inputs. Sometimes in the over night hours it will present an auto correction based on a high glucogen number. Very helpful as it is administered at a level geared towards getting me back to something closer to the 112 blood sugar level we all seek.

If you get the opportunity to go on a Medtronic pump, go for it. Your life will be much the better. I refill the insulin about weekly and change the arm sensor and delivery set on my stomach weekly also. Not much of a hassle once you have the basics down.

Stay positive and get as much feedback you can from us that have already traveled this road. I wish I knew there was this particular chat line before as well as after I had my surgery. I’m doing remarkably well these days and living a good life again!

Hope the best for you too!
