Peripheral sensory neuropathy - Anyone tried Walkasins?
I have recently been diagnosed with PSN and I’ve been searching for remedies. I am looking into the spinal cord stimulator and recently discovered a product called Walkasins by RxFunction. It is a prosthetic device you insert in your shoe which sends signals to your brain from the bottom of your feet. Looks promising for balance and gait issues and will help prevent falls because it enables you to feel your feet. This requires a doctors prescription and I assume is covered by insurance. Has anyone else use this product?

I have been watching them for sometime now., it’s a very slow process. Thanks
I am scheduled for the install of the spinal cord stimulator at the end of the month. I’m praying it will work and I will keep you posted on the outcome.
I had a horrible trial stimulator by nevro. It never worked and my leads started to bleed by day 4. It did not provide me with any relief and it was a horrible experience. I hope it helps you more then me.
Just thought I would try and get this discussion back on topic. @3740 I see that you were interested but cost was a concern. Did you contact RxFunction directly to find out how much it would cost? - https://rxfunction.com/contact/
I purchased Walkasins for the first time in 2024 and they have helped me. One of my feet was losing the ability to function as a foot and this device has helped with that; improving to the point of no longer feeling as though it would no longer support me. Along with that came a much greater feeling of confidence in my mobility so I am very grateful for that. Unfortunately, I am now learning that the cost of this device now (both feet and ankles) has more than doubled in price with them now costing slightly over $10,000.00 and, as with many of you, this may be unaffordable. (I originally paid somewhere in the neighborhood of $4000.00.). This is rather astounding to me and while I am grateful for the device and the know how behind them I can't help but be filled with a nagging term of "price gouging"(?). Let's stay informed.
Welcome @yette, thanks for sharing your experience with Walkasins. It’s really too bad that the cost is prohibitive for most folks with neuropathy. I remember all of the hope we had when they first were announced and we saw a prototype back in 2016 or so at a meeting of the Minnesota Neuropathy Association. I think back then they thought that the cost might be in the $1200 range.
