Hi I've been struggling with lower abdominal pain on and off since April. I was told I have Diverticulitis but now I also have Cdiff. When will this pain and discomfort end and when am I no longer contagious from Cdiff?

Hi, @realgirl777, and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Having on and off abdominal pain is rough. I experienced it for a totally different reason, taking semaglutide (Wegovy), which gave me the worst gut cramping I've experienced in my life. I found it distracting and hard to get through a day being productive.

I moved your post about having diverticulitis and C. diff here to this existing Connect discussion on the topic so you could chat with members such as @lexiebea @pixie1960 @researchmaven and others about how long you may be contagious with C. diff. and when the pain and discomfort is likely to end. Hoping they can provide some support.

realgirl777, when you were diagnosed with C. diff., what was the prescribed treatment? If there was treatment, has it been effective at all?
