I have learned my lesson several times about trying to do to much. I woke up one morning last fall and couldn’t get my arms above my waist. I went to see an orthopedic doctor and he took all my blood markers which were normal. I couldn’t see a Rheumatologist until 5 months later who diagnosed the PMR. I am/was a daily walker and I usually walked 3 mile a day before the sudden weakness. Now I am lucky to get a mile before having to stop. I was started on 9 mg of prednisone and reduced to 7 and all the pain in my shoulders came back and the doctor increased me back to the 9mg with a longer taper. During this time I have also developed a persistent tightness between my shoulder blades and inner and outer hips. The doctor keeps telling me that is not a PMR result. He says only the outer shoulders and hip girdle are symptoms. I am trying to keep positive and reduce the prednisone and he has brought up Kevzara if I cannot taper this time. I am quickly learning that this PMR condition changes everything quickly.

I had that tightness between the shoulder blades for 2 - 3 weeks. I couldn't sneeze during that time, because those muscles are required to sneeze. I definitely think those tight muscles were because of PMR.
