your elekta unity mri linac experience
does anyone know if the elekta unity uses 2mm margins for prostate confined cancer? i have talked to one RO re the meridian and the 2mm margins. traveling to Univ Florida for elekta unity would provide another option.

Somebody posted a while back that UF's Unity MR Linac is a limited resource, so not every one who wants it can have it. Same thing here at the cancer center where I got treated. MR Linac has a 2 mm margin, used for patients who need more accuracy & unable to have gold seeds implant. My SBRT treatment was with an older Elekta 4 mm margin. My oncologist said that's good enough for PCa patients who are able to have gold seeds implant, MRI-guided radio planning, mini-CT scan before each treatment. I understand Unity is MRI-guided treatment. I am not sure if other ROs say the same thing as my RO.
