Antibiotic side effects

I have to take antibiotics because I have pneumonia and bronchitis. I have a very sensitive stomach and I’ve had cdiff once years ago. I want to avoid getting new stomach issues. Besides taking Florastor and eating yogurt and other foods, anyone have any suggestions so I’m not doubled over in two days? Thank you so much- I’ve never posted but I’m pretty nervous about what lies ahead. Thank you.

Bless your heart!! I just went thru a horrible round of antibiotics for a UTI..took 2 days of Levaquin ..back to ER for severe side effects.. they prescribed nitrofuran.. 4 days of that and then to Urgent Care for cipro... they are so hard to take!! (And the dreaded c-dff..I've never had it .. bless your heart!!) I drink Vanilla plant based Ensued which seems to coat my stomach (I had an ulcer.. Levaquin blew a hemorrhage in my stomach ..small one and it healed with sucralfate.. but no fun!!) Your feeling are valid.. and I will pray for you!!

Yikes ! I had a session with C Diff . I have been able to avoid taking the normally prescribed antibiotics . I refuse to take them unless it is Vancomycin. Or if it is a must situation I would insist if they give me their choice, that they give me Vancomycin at the same time . C Diff can be serious if you are up in age. It can cause death . Not to be trifled with . It’s hard to get medical people to discuss or even recognize C Diff. If you have had flare ups often . If you are hospitalized, they are to isolate you . All personnel should wear protective gear . They pay no attention and just run you through the system. Medicine and our treatment has turned into a Corporate business. Caring treatment is hard to find.
