Thanks to all. Update on my wife.

Posted by oldoz @oldoz, 2 days ago

I had posted some time back about my wife's breast cancer.
The surgery was successful and indicated no spread. However they did have her do 6 sessions of radiation which she finished this week without much problems (some weird shooting pain). They also had her start taking Anastrozole.
They also had her get a bone scan. Now she has to start having infusions to treat that.
We are both very much appreciative of all of the information and encouragement that we have received from those on this site. Thanks!

Sounds like my story. I am doing the same. I'm 80 and the side effects of Anastrozole would decrease the quality of my life so I decided not to go on it. I understand it's a good drug, but not for me. I wish you both well on this journey and thankful you have each other.

After surgery and you are feeling better, you will have radiation with in 4 to 6 weeks after surgery. I was told the new statistics were only 5 days of radiation needed. I start mine in 10 days. My oncologist offered me this drug and supported me in making my own decision. This is our decision, and we are in the driver's seat with this cancer. Keep doing research. Hope this helps
