unable to empty my bladder after 7-8 trips to the bathroom per day.
I'm up 3-4 times a night and 7-8 times during the day. My Dr doesn't seem to be very concerned although he did a TURP procedure a year ago and after that I need to wear incontence pads during the day and night. Now I am unable to empty my bladder. I'm 80 yeaers old and that may play a part in the type of treatment I receive.

Are you on any sort of medication for this - Flomax, Avadart, etc.?
I had HoLEP 5 months ago. I get up twice a night and never use a pad during the day. Maybe once a week I need a pad. It isn't your age. I'm 82.
I get up 6-8 times a night, surgery RP done in 2017, I’m 65 so I agree with Vernscw about the age thing.
I use 5-7 pads or depends a day. We have tried Mybertiq and a couple of other prescriptions. I have found that a 25mg THC gummies seems to calm my bladder down enough to where I only get up 1-2 times a night.
As garylr said, Flowmax may help. Also, pelvic floor physical therapy can be a big help
You could ask your doctor about axonics I have it for overactive bladder but also works for those who have trouble emptying their bladder.
Men with incontinence issues ought to look into clamps (sold on Amazon. Try several for optimal comfort). So much better than pads and external catheters. Brings life back to normal. Can do anything while wearing them.

Also, 7-8 voids are not necessarily abnormal. I read rhat Anywhere from 4-11 is in the normal range depending on the individual.
A few thoughts -- one get a pelvic floor PT who specializes in men with prostate issues. Also increase the amount of water you are drinking to increase bladder size (its a muscle). There may be meds that can help with your bladder issues.
Stay positive you will get there.
I was having difficulty for about a year getting started going pee, especially at night (getting up several times). The medications were no longer helping. After my prostatectomy the daytime urinating was much improved, but at night I would wake up with the urge to go, then couldn't get started (had no leakage day or night). The final solution was drinking only water, and only sipping what was necessary after dinner. I cut out coffee, caffeine, carbonated sodas, and alcohol, and after a couple of days I was sleeping through the night without getting up. I believe in my case some of those beverages were irritating my bladder. Don't like the changes in my beverage selections, but I like sleeping through the night without urinary problems.
Leo, sounds very distressing - especially after a TURP. Have you considered a second opinion with a cystoscopy?
You really need another pair of eyes to assess your condition. You should not be in this state after a TURP.
